Double Sided PCB Manufacturers

This PCB is different and more useful than the single-sided PCB because it has metal conductive layers on both sides of the substrate. The holes drilled in the PCB allow connectivity between the circuits on either side of the board. The double-sided PCB allows the circuits and electronic components to connect to the other side using two techniques: through-hole or surface mount. Through holes allows the connections via small wires also known as leads, passed through the holes and soldered to the respective component. The surface mount technology uses the board as a wiring surface for components. This PCB allows you to make compact circuits and takes much less space as compared to other PCBs. The designs for Double-sided PCBs include Automotive dashboards, Power supplies, HVAC systems, LED lighting, Amplifiers, and Vending machines.

Double Sided PCB, also known as two layer PCB is a type of PCB which has conductive copper layers on both sides of the board i.e. top and bottom.

It is extremely useful in many electronic applications because circuits on one side of the board can be connected on the other side of the board with the help of holes drilled on the board which needs platting in holes(PTH)

Components on these boards can be connected using two different useful technologies i.e. Through Hole Technology and Surface Mount Technology based on the needs and requirements, both technologies come with their own benefits and limitations.

There exists a silk screen above the solder mask on both sides of the board which is mainly used for adding symbols and characters on the board so a common person can understand the board functions.

What are Double Sided PCBs?

Double-sided PCBs are the same as single-sided PCBs, but the difference is they have two sided traces with a top and bottom layer. Double-sided PCBs can mount conductive copper and components on both sides of the printed circuit board so that the traces can cross over each other. So it leads to a higher density of boards without the need of point-to-point soldering. So it’s difficult to fabricate the double-sided PCBs because they are more complex than single-sided PCBs. However, it’s better to use the double-sided PCBs compared to single-sided PCBs.

Advantages of using Double Sided PCB

The main benefit of double sided boards is that you have an extra layer to add more components, which effectively increases the density of the circuit. With more space available on the circuit board, this increases the flexibility of the design, enabling you to place more components and have room for extra connections if needed.

Double sided circuit boards tend to use more complex circuitry as there is more space. This means that these boards are perfect for advanced electronics or demanding applications.

Being able to use both sides of the circuit board effectively reduces the size of the board needed. This can be a great cost-saving which makes double sided PCBs less expensive.
